The ABPCO (Association of British Professional Conference Organisers) held their annual conference at Old Trafford, Manchester United Football club's iconic football stadium. Roy was asked to be the opening keynote speaker for this industry event. Attended by nearly 100 conference organising specialists, his talk created an early 'buzz' at this event and encouraged delegates to mix and mingle.

Very shortly after this event Roy's agent was contacted by various members of that audience with enquiries for him to speak at their client conferences. One such event was the Iceland supermarket chain. He was hired to speak at their annual staff conference. And also moderated a discussion panel with key Iceland executives.
Another conference organiser at the ABPCO event hired Roy to speak at the first CCE (Conference Centres of Excellence) event held at Aston University in Birmingham.
