What Some in the UK Conference Industry Don't Want You to Know

The City of Lausanne and the International Olympic Committee.
Roy was hired to moderate a series of panel discussions at this inaugural
global event for past, present and future Olympic cities. Delegates included
the mayors of many of these global cities. Roy's duties also included
interviewing the Deputy Mayor of Beijing for the first formal de-brief of
the hugely successful Beijing Olympic Games.

Discussion topics during the conference included the future role of the
Olympics in society, the Olympic legacy for Olympic cities, as well as
social, economic and urban regeneration of Olympic cities.

Symantec Europe
Symantec, the fourth largest software company in the world held its European
conference for 1700 of its European Enterprise customers in The Hague, the
city of justice, peace and security. Roy was the MC and moderator for this
conference. His duties included introducing and interviewing speakers. This
included interviewing John Thompson, Symantec's Chairman and CEO.

KPMG
For the past 5 years, Roy has been a guest speaker at KPMG's annual European Emerging Leaders conference. Roy shares his thoughts on how to be proactive and professional about building meaningful business relationships internally and externally.

ICSC (international Council of Shopping Centers)
ReCon is the world's largest industry conference. Held annually in Las
Vegas, this event attracted 53,000 delegates. Roy was the MC and
interviewer. As part of his duties Roy chaired an 'intimate' standing-room
only session for about 5,000 people with Jim Carville (Bill Clinton's former
political strategist) and Tucker Carlson (a former CNN political anchorman)
on the global impact of the next US president. Roy's duties also included
hosting a commemoration dinner at the Bellagio Hotel, for a well-loved,
former trustee at ICSC.

So large was this entire event, Roy was escorted by a 'minder' to ensure he
found his way around - and appeared on the correct stage, at the right time!

MECSC (The Middle East Council of Shopping Centres)
Roy was moderator and MC in Dubai for yet another MECSC conference. He
interviewed speakers and chaired discussions on the growth and potential
challenges for the retail real-estate industry in the Middle East.

BAT (British American Tobacco)
BAT's internal security team brought in Roy for the second time to moderate
their global conference for fellow security professionals. Held in Cairo,
Egypt, Roy interviewed speakers, chaired discussions on a range of security
related topics. As part of a separate European meeting, Roy led a session on
how to present with more impact, and coached executives on how to improve
their style and shared countless tips on how to speak more effectively in
presentations.

Lovells
Lovells is one of the world's top law firms. This was Roy's third global
conference for Lovells, (the second for the litigation arm of this firm).
Held in Brighton, Roy introduced, interviewed and chaired various
business-related discussions.

Global Tobacco Sustainability Summit.
Held in Montreux, Switzerland. This bi-annual event for global executives
involved in the tobacco industry was chaired by Roy for the third time. One
of the guest speakers was Jose Maria Aznar, the former President of Spain.
The event was co-hosted by BAT and Bain and Company, the global consultancy firm.

Philips Healthcare
A global conference for corporate communications professionals within the
Healthcare division of the electronics giant, Philips. Roy was the MC and
moderator for this two day event, chairing unscripted panel discussions and
interviews with speakers.
